Pioneer Smart Sync is a highly evolved app available for both iOS and Android OS devices that utilizes the power of a connected smartphone to expand the features and user interface of compatible Pioneer in-dash receivers. With support for either a Bluetooth® or USB connection, the link between your smartphone and the in-dash receiver can be either wired or wireless. Through Pioneer Smart Sync, you can access many popular smartphone apps for maps, messages, music and more. Pioneer Smart Sync now features Alexa Built-in. Just download or update to the latest version of the Pioneer Smart Sync app. Using Alexa with Pioneer Smart Sync is simple: just tap-and-ask to play music, hear the news, check weather, control smart home devices,* and more. Alexa lives in the cloud, so it’s always getting smarter, adding new capabilities that are delivered to your device automatically.

Pioneer Smart Sync v4.1 now enables the display of widgets for vehicle information including engine performance, live data and vehicle diagnostic codes to show repair needs. With a compatible Pioneer in-dash receiver, by connecting your Android smartphone or iPhone device via Bluetooth to a compatible OBD-II code reader* (optional and sold separately) plugged into the vehicle's OBD-II port, you can read and clear diagnostic codes and view drive information, average speed, MPG and more straight from the Pioneer Smart Sync v4.1 app.
*Note: OBD-II code readers are not Pioneer products and Pioneer is not responsible for their use. There may be risks in the case of faulty performance of an OBD-II code reader including potential vehicle battery drain or introducing security vulnerabilities. You can operate the Pioneer Smart Sync app simply with your voice, allowing you to pay full attention to the road while starting navigation, playing music, or opening your phone’s address book.
Combine an optional Pioneer ND-PS1 parking sensor (sold separately) with a Pioneer SPH-10BT Smartphone Receiver for greater safety when parking. The sensor detects obstacles behind the car, sending information to your phone on the object’s distance and direction as well as the danger level.

Along with many sound effects, various precise sound adjustments offer an upgrade to the listening experience in your vehicle. 31-band Graphic Equalizer adjustments, Live Simulation sound effects, and even (manual) Time Alignment; a Digital sound processing feature which allows the listener to manually set the distance from each speaker, allowing audio signals to reach the listener at the same time for a better listening experience.
