Design The latest line of Pioneer® and Elite® Blu-ray Disc® Players features supreme build construction and a meticulous attention to detail. Designed to ensure nothing less than unrivaled content performance, loading times have been significantly improved over previous generations. And with an entirely redesigned platform, disc load, power on/power off and disc-eject times have improved as well. In addition, with separate audio, video, CD-ROM drive and power supply boards, our players are not only optimally balanced on the inside, but with an entirely new cosmetic design, they also look stunning on the outside. And to perfect our design even more, a toroidal transformer has been implemented in the Elite BDP-09FD to help limit stray magnetic fields and reduce electrical noise.

Chassis Constructed to be highly adaptable to even the most creative installation requirements, our latest line of Blu-ray Disc® Players are designed to deliver unparalleled picture performance. Built with high quality components like the gold-plated terminals of the Elite® BDP-09FD that improve conductivity, every efficiency has been taken into consideration. Yet another example of this is the player's new center-loading tray. Designed specifically to help reduce vibration, its placement within the player also allows for the optimal positioning of the dedicated audio and video boards, which results in smoother operation and playback of discs. Also, new capacitance touch buttons on the Elite BDP-05FD (for manual control and added cosmetic synergy) match all our other components providing a pleasing aesthetic that is immediately noticeable. And when it came to engineering our flagship Elite BDP-09FD, even such details as the vibration-dampening carbon-composite TAOC insulator feet that support the chassis help to deliver the most superior sound and picture quality available today. True 24 FPS
Movies are the combined work of many people. From cinematographers and set designers to Foley and makeup artists, every detail is taken into consideration in order to create the ultimate cinematic experience. And, as all our Blu-ray Disc^® Players output True 24fps at up to 1080p resolution, no detail is lost in the process. In the past, film displayed on television required stretching 24 frames-per-second to match the 30 frames-per-second of television. More often than not, this would result in annoying motion judder and unnatural on-screen images. With True 24fps, you see only what the director intended, by displaying film sources at their actual speed.

In the pursuit to continually enhance the performance of Blu-ray Disc^® movies, Pioneer's proprietary and advanced PureCinema™ Deinterlacer essentially eliminates lines that can negatively affect the viewing experience. Additionally, our latest players include a new 3D Noise Reduction circuit that monitors the four blurring effects that make up 3D Noise (chrominance, luminance, block and mosquito). The result is a picture virtually free of noise, blurring, distortion and other inconsistencies. These advanced video adjustments and noise reduction circuits help to ensure that you get the most out of all your Blu-ray and DVD discs. Components
With the pursuit of sound perfection comes the never-ending desire to incorporate the finest components for optimal performance. This year was no different. With our latest Blu-ray Disc^® Players now employing four Wolfson^® Microelectronics Audio DACs (digital audio converters), sound recreation has been enhanced considerably. Ultra high-end in quality, each DAC features a signal-to-noise ratio of 117db and an uncompromised transparency with every source it enriches. In addition, the new Toroidal power transformer that comes with the Elite^® BDP-09FD provides limited stray magnetic fields and high electrical efficiencies that help to lower electrical noise. High-quality ELNA^® capacitors also offer unique sonic benefits allowing for improved audio quality from all sources. The Elite BDP-09FD's eight DACs (1 per channel) coupled with the ability to run in dual mode also boosts the signal-to noise ratio from 3db to 120db.

CD Audio To optimally recreate the dynamic sound quality of CDs, Pioneer created a jitter-free audio transmission method to help eliminate audio jitter normally associated with today's conventional products. As a result, each Pioneer® Blu-ray Disc® Player is designed with Precision Quartz Lock System (PQLS), which offers a transfer control technology that allows the output signals to be controlled by our latest Elite® A/V receivers (SC-07 and SC-05) for higher-quality sound playback. The quartz oscillator eliminates the influence of jitter that can occur with the transfer of sound bits, and ultimately synchronizes music data from the Blu-ray Disc Player to the receiver. The result inevitably gives music fanatics revolutionary high-resolution CD audio.
