Every Pioneer^® and Elite^® A/V receiver comes with Sound Retriever DSP technology, which significantly improves the sound quality of compressed audio such as WMA, MP3 and ACC to the level of near CD sound. Sound Retriever enhances these audio files to restore the minute details left out during the compression process. This technology also enhances the audio quality of XM^® and SIRIUS^® Satellite Radio. In addition, our SC-line of Elite receivers comes with an Advanced Sound Retriever, which not only improves compressed audio to near CD sound, but can also realize an upper limit frequency of 20 kHz with compressed audio playback.
