Dempsey Appointed President and Chief Operations Officer for Pioneer New Media Technologies Inc.

Pioneer New Media Technologies Inc. (PNT), a leading manufacturer of industrial DVD products, today announced the appointment of Paul Dempsey as President and Chief Operations Officer.

"Paul Dempsey has been an integral part of the phenomenal growth of Pioneer's industrial and commercial optical business," says Kazunori Yamamoto, president and CEO, Pioneer North America. "We look to him to help to contribute to the exciting, new directions that our company is moving towards."

In his new position as president, Dempsey will oversee the continued growth of the optical business, cable television, industrial video, as well as the commercial display and DJ/karaoke businesses.

As a member of Pioneer's senior management team, Dempsey previously served as the executive vice president of sales and marketing for the company's Optical Division. He has played an active role in the development of the company's overall marketing direction and worked closely on product development with PNTs Japanese parent company, Pioneer Corporation.

Dempsey has worked for PNT for more than 10 years and is a 25-year veteran of the multimedia industry. Prior to joining Pioneer in 1989, Dempsey worked with Telaction, a J.C. Penney's interaction ship-at-home service, where he was involved in design and implementation of the engineering and operational policies of the interactive shopping services.

His career was launched with Warner Communications' QUBE Systems, the nation's first fully interactive cable television system. There he served as director of metro engineering and operations for 14 years.

Dempsey attended Columbus Technical Institute in Columbus, Ohio.
