Floating Plasma Racks Offer Contemporary Design Option

Long Beach, CA 6/25/2003

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., a leader in digital home entertainment products, today introduced two television racks designed to complement its Pioneer and Elite PureVision(r) plasma televisions. Both racks, the Pioneer RAE-1011 and Pioneer Elite PFS-1011, will accommodate either a 43-inch or 50-inch television and offer a floating plasma mount, integrated wire management system, two tempered glass shelves and an all-steel construction.

"Our research shows that 40 percent of consumers don't want to or aren't able to hang their plasma directly on the wall," " said Russ Johnston, senior vice president of marketing for the home entertainment division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "Since traditional furniture manufacturers have not yet caught up to electronics manufacturers in designing furniture to house these ultra-modern thin-screen televisions, Pioneer is offering several furniture choices. Our floating stands complement our standard and tilt-mount wall brackets to offer another choice for plasma display."

When mounted in the RAE-1011 or PFS-1011, the plasma has the appearance of floating. Each stand offers two height options along with an integrated floating swivel mount so the plasma can be turned from side to side. Each stand also has two adjustable tempered glass shelves that each holds up to 50 lbs. The steel spine that supports both the plasma and the shelves is hollow offering a simple wire management system.

The Elite plasma stand is high-gloss piano black with smoked glass shelves making it an elegant partner to the Pioneer Elite plasma displays. The RAE-1011 plasma stand also comes with high-gloss piano black accents which include a base plate and side trim for the spine, dressing up the plasma stand even further. The PFS-1011 is offered in gun-metal gray to compliment the Pioneer plasma televisions.

The Pioneer Elite RAE-1011 and Pioneer PFS-1011 are currently available with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1,700 and $1,500 respectively.

Pioneer's Home Entertainment Division is the leading manufacturer of plasma and projection televisions, DVD players and DVD recorders, A/V receivers, CD players and CD recorders, speakers and other audio and video accessories. Its focus is on the development of new digital technologies including Digital Network Entertainment. The company markets its products under the Pioneer and Pioneer Elite brand names. When purchased from an authorized dealer, consumers receive a limited warranty for one year with Pioneer products and two years with Pioneer Elite products.
